Fabric Selection

This is the creative part of the journey, you get to select from 1,000’s of fabric compared to purchasing a new sofa or armchair… let’s get started!

What to consider when selecting fabric…

  • Close-up of a brown leather office chair with metal armrest.

    Durability & Wear Resistance

Choose a fabric that suits your lifestyle. For high-traffic areas, opt for performance fabrics like microfiber, leather, or tightly woven textiles with a high Martindale rub count (above 17,000 for domestic, 50,000+ for commercial use).

Best for: Homes with kids, pets, or frequent use.

  • Close-up of two pink velvet cushions with a geometric square pattern on a beige sofa.

    Texture & Comfort

The feel of the fabric matters for both comfort and aesthetics. Velvet offers a plush, luxurious touch, while linen is breathable and casual. Consider whether you want a soft, smooth, or structured, textured finish.

Best for: Cozy and stylish seating experiences.

  • A chair covered in floral fabric featuring pink, purple, green, and blue flowers and leaves, placed on a textured gray ground with a plain gray wall background.

    Colour & Pattern Selection

Neutral tones are timeless and versatile, while bold colours or patterns can create a statement piece. Consider stain resistance, as lighter fabrics may show dirt more easily. Patterned or darker fabrics help conceal wear over time.

Best for: Creating a cohesive or eye-catching design in your space.
